Mrs. K. Ison

Hello!  My name is Kathy Ison.  Currently, I teach 2nd Grade at East Side.  I have been teaching for 30 years.  I taught 2 years at Break-O-Day in Whiteland, 3 years at Schmitt Elementary in Columbus, and 25 years at East Side!  I also teach as an adjunct professor at IUPUC.

I have been married to Phil for 30 years!  We have 2 children, ages 25 and 27, both are working in healthcare radiology.  Phil also works as a HVAC technician in healthcare.  I have a beautiful granddaughter who is 9 months old!  She’s just perfect!

I enjoy time with family and friends and am active in my church.  Phil and I enjoy gardening during our free time. My hobbies are shopping, playing my piano, and most of all spending time with my sweet granddaughter!

I love teaching and wouldn’t choose any other profession; however, I am getting close to retirement!  :)
